In Parliament

I represent constituents in Parliament in a number of ways:

Speeches

I speak regularly in the House of Commons on both national and international issues which affect the people of Islwyn. They can be viewed by clicking hereor visit www.theyworkforyou.com

Parliamentary Questions

I ask a wide range of questions on a variety of topics that concern people living in Islwyn. They can be viewed by clicking here or visiting www.theyworkforyou.com

Early Day Motions

Early Day Motions (EDMs) provide an opportunity for MPs to put on record their opinion on issues of concern. They give an important indication of the views of MPs and are watched carefully by Government. You can read all the EDMs that I have signed from this Parliamentary session by clicking here.

Committees

While speaking in the chamber of the House is a high profile activity for an MP, much other work is done elsewhere, in committee. Committees are small groups of Members of Parliament which are set up in order to discuss, examine or advise on specific public policy issues or pieces of legislation. I am at present a member of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC). You can find out more about the work of the PAC by clicking here.
